For the Rick Ross Florida Boy video shoot in 2017, Nash was commissioned to create custom apparel for Ross. Exploring his interests and South Florida roots, we designed a varsity jacket, baseball jersey, and accessories.
The hero piece of the capsule was the Carol City varsity jacket in which is centrally featured in the video. The jacket’s inspiration came from Ross’ hometown within Miami taking cues from his local high school as well as traditional Miami colors.
The Miami script baseball jersey was inspired by the Miami Marlins colors with a bit more attitude to mimic Ross’ style and delivery. Worn on stage at multiple shows, this jersey was not released to the public.
The final apparel piece to the capsule celebrates Ross’ love of cars, specifically American muscle. We illustrated his Cherry 73’ and created the idea of ‘CCCC’, the Carol City Car Club. The jacket sported direct embroidery with screen printed sun halftone for a layered texture effect.
